COLORS OF AUTUMN.....

It's that time of year again, when we start see the vibrant colors as a result of the changing of the seasons. As I welcome the cooler weather and wait for the beauty of the season to appear, I decided to take to my bead board and create jewelry reflecting the colors of Autumn.

Here is a simple pair of dangle earrings I made last weekend. The earrings feature wire wrapped orange carnelian beads accented by green and orange crystal beads.  Simple and pretty.

If you wish to purchase these earrings I have them currently for sale in my etsy shop found at LuvAlisa.com

You are Special...

"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" (Matthew 6:26)
Yesterday I sat and sat staring at an array of beads on my bead board trying to figure out how to create something unique.  I felt as if I had an artistic block, trying to think of someone special to make. I picked up this bird pendant and something lead me to pair it with a cross. The result was this simple bird necklace being born.

When I took a step back and studied what I had created the bible verse Matthew 6:26 just jumped into my thoughts. Always remember that you are special in God's eyes. No matter how insignificant you feel, you truly do matter.

Aside from the bird and the cross charm, this necklace also features orange carnelian and crystal beads. Simple beauty. It is currently for sale in my etsy shop which can be found at LuvAlisa.com

Fly Hummingbird! Fly!

So I've spent the last several days learning both Blogger and WeHeartIt.com  I must say I've been enjoying both.  Posted this piece on We Heart It a few minutes ago and I've been watching the heart number grow. I must say it's quite humbling when something I create can be liked by total strangers.

I dreamed up this piece a few weeks ago after receiving a shipment of beads with these adorable hummingbirds. I've noticed that there are many people who have a fondness for birds. I admit, I love them too.  I just felt that a hummingbird would be a nice addition to my collection.  This necklace features a wire wrapped Rose Quartz pendant with a crystal accent. That paired with the hummingbird make this a very pretty but unique necklace that I know will bring happiness to someone one day.

This hummingbird is currently looking for a home to call his own. If you wish to visit him, you can currently find him in my etsy shop that can be found at www.LuvAlisa.com

Angel Wings....

ANGEL WINGS....

Sitting here watching the Endeavour Shuttle on TV make it's final flight around Southern California Piggy backed on top a 747 is making me feel a little teary eyed this morning.  Such a beautiful sight in the sky and just knowing this is the last flight for this machine makes everything so bittersweet.

As I watch this flight live on TV, I thought about which piece of mine to share on my blog today and it was clear to me that it has to be these cute Angel Wing moonstone Earrings are fitting for the mood. The space shuttle reminds me of a little angel in the sky. These simple earrings are bronze in tone and feature a simple pure white rainbow moonstone gemstone.  Something fun to spice up any jewelry collection. :)

I Believe...

I Believe Handmade Citrine Necklace

Made this necklace this past weekend. I visited a bead shop recently and found a little charm with the words “I Believe,” written on it and immediately I just knew I had to pair that charm with a cross. This is the end result. The necklace also features a pretty golden yellow wire wrapped citrine bead.
I just joined we heart it last night and this picture was my first post. To my surprise I awoke this morning and it has been hearted 90 times over night. Love that people are hearting it. :)

Just a little bit about me

So I’ve never really blogged before. I’ve decided to give it a try and take the plunge tonight. Hoping I’ll be able to stick with it because I know this can get time consuming and time is very precious these days.  Anyway, just created this blog to bring brand awareness to my little etsy shop called Luv Alisa, which can be found directly on the web at www.LuvAlisa.com.  I make handmade jewelry, so feel free to stop by and check it out. I try to update it weekly.
A little bit about me: I’m in my 30s.  Born and raised in the great state of Hawaii but now living in a crazy city called Los Angeles. I have been making jewelry only for a couple of years but mainly just for friends. I have never taken a formal jewelry making class in my life. I basically taught myself. I have no idea why I started down this path, but I’m enjoying it.
Things I like: chocolate, dogs and ice cream! My favorite music group when I was 12 was the New Kids on the Block, and all I can say is that some things never change!  :)
God truly inspires me and I believe that is often reflected in the jewelry pieces I create.  When I sit down each week to make my jewelry pieces, I’m often listening to a church sermon on my Harvest iphone app.  It’s one of those apps I have absolutely grown to love!
I enjoy creating pretty things that bring smiles and warm feelings for others.  Each of my pieces are created with LOVE in mind.
Anyway, that’s me in a nutshell.  I will try my best to keep this blog updated. Thank you for dropping by and taking the time to read this.
Luv,
Alisa
