Got a taste of Jackson Hole, Wyoming....
Traveling around this past week and one of the stops along the way was a sleepy town called Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It reminded me a bit of Anchorage, Alaska in more ways than one. I got a chance to take a short walk through town to get a feel of the city vibe.
My short few hours started with a breathtaking sunrise sky. I was up before the sun peaked and there was a beautiful red sky outside my room. Stepped outside in my tank top in 30-degree weather. It didn’t even phase me which is odd being that I’ve lived primarily in warmer climates all my life. Either way, took in the moment. Made way into town a little later in the morning and found myself in the middle of the city. There are distinct Elk Antler arches that welcome you to a park in town. I could easily spot the locals from the visitors. They were the ones out wearing shorts and flip-flops even though the early morning temperatures were in the 30′s-40′s. Saw a cute young brother and sister playing near the park statue with other children. The little boy caught my attention because he was wearing a flower in his hair. His mother laughed and said he insisted that he get a flower in his hair like his older sister because he doesn’t realize gender differences yet. He wore the flower proudly. It’s so sweet to see the innocence of a child.
The farmers market was fun to see. So many different food items to purchase. Huckleberry seems to have been a theme. Was contemplating picking up a jar of Huckleberry jam. Decided I couldn’t lug it along to my next travel city so I declined to get it. Wish I had, but maybe next time. I watched a doughnut vendor at the market get cleaned out in minutes of their doughnuts. I was told they were very delicious. I was tempted to try one but decided my waistline and my wallet couldn’t afford it. I finally caved when I found some Huckleberry Lemonade. I had to try it. I must say it was sweet but very delicious. I liked the fact that I could actually taste real lemon.
On my way back out of town I ran into an adorably cute doggie resident riding in the back of a truck. There was just something about his face and his countenance that I just loved. Had to get a pic to share.
It was short, sweet but fun Jackson Hole, Wyoming. A city definitely worth a visit. I hope to see you again sometime in the near future.
